Whether you want a splash of red warmth for the fall and winter, or to cosplay the BBC version of Merlin, this kerchief is ready for you! I crocheted this kerchief in the Tunisian crochet technique, giving a woven look to the front side of the fabric. The back has more of a rippled look, also shown in the final two photos as some people prefer it. The dramatic V shape of the kerchief gives you long ends to tie it around your neck without a lot of bulk. The inside of the V (the part that goes around your neck) measures about 32 inches from tip to tip, and the center spine is about 10 inches long. It fits both my mannequin with her dainty 11 inch neck and my husband with his 16 inch neck. I used a soft, lightweight acrylic/nylon blend that you can gently machine or hand wash and gently machine dry or dry flat to best keep its shape.
